Chain library De Librije

The librije Enkhuizen has since 1628 through purchase and donations on this site become a unique cultural-historical collection of works from the late 15th century, the 16th century and from the first half of the 17th century. The librije contains around 500 books. There are books from the beginning of the printing press (incunabula).
All this time the books were kept in this room in the church. They survived reasonably well.
