Old wood sawing mill

The Rat is an octagonal scaffolding mill in IJlst and was built in 1828. The miller's home is next to the windmill. The Rat is one of the three wood sawing mills in Friesland. The others are De Jager in Woudsend and De Zwaluw in Birdaard. The mill originates from the Zaan region and was built in 1683 as a beam saw.
