Castle Amerongen
the approximately 3500 books are housed in an attractive room facing south - a favorite room of the residents of the time. In the time of Count van Aldenburg Bentinck the room was used as a sitting room. You can imagine how he was reading in a large armchair by the fireplace. On a table lies an old States Bible in calfskin leather binding, with handwritten notes of births and deaths. The embroidered armchairs date from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The wallpaper - small sheets of printed paper - was made in France around 1835.
